As the mouthpiece of the communist party of China and the Chinese people, mainstream
media should shoulder the responsibility and mission of spreading the red culture well. In 2021, the
program “The Pursuit: The Stories Behind the Red Letters” launched by China Media Group achieved a
double success in terms of word-of-mouth and broadcasting, which provides a reference for mainstream
media to do a good job of red culture communication. This paper takes the program “The Pursuit” as
the object of analysis, and studies the interaction ritual chain in the red culture communication of The
Pursuit, analyzes the elements, operation mechanism and effect of the interaction ritual chain, and tries
to establish a model of the interaction ritual chain in the red culture communication of The Pursuit,
in order to provide the main-stream media with experience and thought direction for red culture
communication.
